Toothy[]

Toothy, a freckled 20-year-old Caucasian, is portrayed as a friendly and sociable character in Happy Tree Friends. He often engages in playful activities with the younger characters and is particularly fond of Splendid. Toothy even dresses up as Splendid during Halloween, possibly because Splendid saved him in the episode "Better Off Bread."  Toothy shares a close friendship with Cuddles, as depicted in various episodes such as "Spin Fun Knowin' Ya," "Class Act," "From A to Zoo," "Remains to be Seen," "Who's to Flame?," "Take a Hike," "Snow Place to Go," "Blast from the Past," "Can't Stop Coffin," "Autopsy Turvy (Double Whammy Part II)," "Party Animal," "Concrete Solution," "Wrath of Con," and "The Strain Kringle." Although they had a brief rivalry in "Camp Pokeneyeout," they reconcile their differences in the end.  Toothy is also shown to be good friends with characters like Giggles, Sniffles, Lumpy, and Petunia. He is a prominent figure in the show, appearing in numerous commercials and advertisements. Some episodes suggest that Toothy loves singing, with some characters considering him a talented vocalist. Examples of his singing can be seen in episodes such as "Class Act," "Deck the Halls," and "We Wish You."  Toothy is not immune to displaying emotions, often depicted in instances where he cries. These emotional moments occur in episodes like "Eye Candy" (debatable), "Class Act," "Take a Hike," "Snow Place to Go," "Blast from the Past," "Brake the Cycle," and "An Inconvenient Tooth."  Toothy holds a significant place in the series due to being the first character killed in Happy Tree Friends (excluding "Banjo Frenzy" as an episode), and he is also the central character in the award-winning episode "Eye Candy," which received recognition at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France.  Unlike other characters whose personalities dictate their behavior in various situations, Toothy's personality fluctuates. He tends to act impulsively, often acting before thinking things through. This impulsive behavior is evident in instances like when he runs away and throws a lit candle behind him in "Class Act." Although Toothy is not typically considered intellectually challenged, there have been occasions where he acts strangely due to misinterpreting instructions or instructions, such as pouring excessive gunpowder into a cannon in "Mime to Five." However, he demonstrates his resourcefulness by building and repairing a bicycle in the episode "Brake the Cycle."  Ken Pontac, one of the show's writers, has mentioned that Toothy is one of the least developed characters in need of further personality development. This ongoing effort to develop his character is already noticeable in recent episodes such as the Love Bites short "Cold Hearted," where Toothy mischievously interferes with Giggles' and Cro-Marmot's date, and in "The Strain Kringle," where he assists Cuddles in pelting Lumpy. Moreover, "Brake the Cycle" showcases Toothy's passion for bicycle riding and repair skills. Nevertheless, Toothy also exhibits stubbornness in this episode, as he chooses to ride his bike despite knowing it was missing some bolts, leading to fatal consequences for himself and other characters.  Toothy has a notable kill count, which increases significantly due to his simultaneous kills. In "Remains to be Seen," he bites Fliqpy's brain, causing the death of all zombified characters. Similarly, in "Class Act," Toothy accidentally sets the school on fire, resulting in multiple casualties from the resulting explosion.  Toothy has a diverse range of deaths, often involving his head, eyes, being crushed, in vehicle accidents, or disintegrating/turning into ash. Despite his frequent deaths, Toothy has managed to survive in several episodes, including "Nuttin' but the Tooth," "I Get a Trick Out of You," "Read 'em and Weep," "Can't Stop Coffin," "All Flocked Up," "Something Fishy," and "Going Out With a Bang." In the TV series, Toothy's survival is only evident in "A Change of Heart," "Wipe Out!," and "Wingin' It." Further instances where Toothy survives are "Kringle Karols," "Banjo Frenzy" (debatable), "Cold Hearted," "YouTube Copyright School," "Oh Xmas Tree," and the HTF Break shorts "Deck the Halls" and "We Wish You."  Toothy frequently experiences injuries, with his eyes being a common target or affected area. Examples of this can be seen in episodes like "Eye Candy," "Keepin' it Reel," "Chew Said a Mouthful," "Idol Curiosity," "A Sight for Sore Eyes," "The Carpal Tunnel of Love," and "Camp Pokeneyeout."
